Michele grew up in Wathena, Kansas, before moving to St. Joseph 34 years ago. She enjoyed raising her two children, Jennifer and David Duncan Jr. here in St. Joseph, and was always active in PTA, Band Boosters and various activities her children were involved in from pre-school to graduation.
